Coaches are the heart of our program and GOTR Mid State PA wouldn’t be able to make an impact without you! We are excited to share that Girls on the Run International is launching a National Coach Recognition program and we are proud to participate beginning this Fall 2025! This nationwide effort will honor and thank amazing coaches like YOU for your commitment and impact, both locally and as part of the powerful, collective movement happening across our GOTR network.
The program will recognize key coaching milestones with special items that show our gratitude. Whether it's your first season or your twentieth, we're here to celebrate you!
How does it work?
} At each milestone season you will be sent a special gift:
} Starting at season 1, each coach will receive a GOTR postcard with a personalized message from GOTR Mid State PA
} At season 3, you’ll receive custom GOTR pins to celebrate your impact and honor your dedication
} At season 5, you’ll receive a special embroidered GOTR coach hat to proudly display your growing pin collection!
} Pins will be given at 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, & 25 seasons.
} These gifts are small ways to express our big appreciation for every season, practice and girl you’ve inspired.
What if you’ve coached before this launch?
} During the launch of this program, we will be “catching up” coaches so everyone receives recognition for the last milestone they reached across any GOTR council where they coached.
} This means that if you coach this Fall 2025, you will receive items for a previous milestone you achieved from a prior season. It’s our way of “catching up” and saying thank you for the time and effort you’ve already invested in our program.
} NEW - Camp GOTR coaching will now be included in the total seasons coached count.
How does this affect the coach necklaces and charms?
} The National Coach Recognition program will be replacing the necklace and charms as we transition to provide gifts that are more inclusive and celebrate all coaches. GOTR Mid State PA will no longer be using necklaces and season charms for the Star Coach gifts.
Will there be changes to the coach gifts given at Midseason and the 5K Celebration?
} GOTR Mid State PA provides a coach gift for EVERY coach each season. This is one of the ways we show our appreciation to our coaches during the season. For example, this fall all coaches received (or will receive at the 5K) a pair of GOTR mittens. These coach gifts will continue, and they are separate from the National Coach Recognition program.
